Hello sorry no english
Good luck with your kamei build.
I run the kamei history already posted here:
http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=208693
It has been put together over many years of research in my own private time = 1000's hrs so glad if it is any help as it has been very pleasing for many people invloved with original kamei car.
Yours will be no3 replica build i think.... UK No1 Germany No2 France No3 so many kamei Golf's for fans to enjoy.
My own replica has been slow as paint & bodywork very expensive but should be done for 2011:
Also my friends:
As i am friends with Kamei i can pass on your build to them if you like?
The original has just come to UK for restoration (bought by owner of blue kam ei car) so very exciting times for Kamei.

Thank you, it has been a long and hard journey to get my old mk1 to where it is especially being on a very low wage here. The paint and bodywork was over £4000

so i want to get her finished as i want to take her back to the Nurburgring & meet my friends at Kamei for some photos.
Will be great to see Bernd Renneisen drive a Kamei Golf again & Uwe the big Kamei boss who i chat to on the phone.
I am waiting for more information on the German replica being built but anything i find out will be added into my historical thread that gets updated regurlarly as i chat to many people involved with the original kamei car & other cars.
If you haven't noticed my friends uses the vw motorsport colours, we did the graphics for it the same time as mine (lots of measuring was needed) though mine aren't stuck on yet as paint laquer needs cleaning.

I didn't noticed these were the VWM colours

but it seems now logical that I appreciated the combination
I guess it was a long time job measuring every strip and graphic and the result is perfect !
We're waiting a lot from Fred's replica. As he explained in his last post, he's waiting for a better weather to go further...
And he's also preparing one of his racing Golf

I will have to take a look at his racing golf.
Yes the decals took a long time and the 4 rear quarter ones are just left to print out now.
The historical thread has been a great journey so far even if it has taken up a lot of my spare time, i have met & still meet some still enthusiastic people who were involved with the kamei car.
The original kamei car was an S1 (small rear lights) 1976 road car though not swallowtail as far as i know, mine has the later 1983 rear lights.

thanks mike for your helping ; I ve not to much time to work on this project now because i must finish my new daily cabrio first and prepare my mk1 saloon car to drive this year .
And i must organize my garage for long body works (modification and painting) before strat really .
I found company whitch can make for me all stickers exactly and I will do paint myself .
Do you know what is the color inside the body and engine compartment : black or white or other ...?
My body is from 1982 but i will modify the back like before 1979 to put small red light (i founded them new on ebay)
witch kind of BBS will you put because its not easy found reall 030?

We agreed on clubgti on BBS E30 3-piece 9" x 13":
http://www.bbs-racing-wheels.com/seiten ... t/e30e.htm
I have also gone for a different to original with BBS RS rear 9x15 front 8x15 myself for now due to cost and my 285mm brakes.
Engine bay looks black when it was 1st used in the USA (i kept mine red).
Inside the body i never really thought about, i could ask driver Bernd Renneisen or Kamei boss Uwe Meier-Andrae but it was so long ago they may not remember now as they raced many cars since then though some of the original paint might still be underneath the white now on it so i will ask my friend who now owns it, you never know.
Have you read all the historical thread? it makes a good read i hope.

I forgot to say don't worry about trying to guess the Kamei red/orange/yellow colours for your car as i have all the VW and pantone variation paint codes they used on their original car

.
White was the only one i had to source myself and i ended up using a Ford one as it was as vibrant and advised by my painter (I need to look where i wrote that code down).
