I could find only a name plate on dashboard, but do you know how to identify 150CV or 163CV ?

Hello
I think you can call or send a email at Oettinger GMBH at Germany to know which version you have (with the plate on dashboard or the constructor plate)

Good collection
I love you Oett' and your grey One !
I will ask someone, maybe he could explain us which version you have . He has a Mk2 2000E/16v Oettinger 170cv , and that's this guy explained me the version of the Mk2 Oett', but he detailled me the modification only the 2000E.
I can try to inform
Take care of this 1800E/16v

Hello and welcome here, that's a nice gift !!!
1800E/16 163cv is on a KR 16V basis, you have the 1800E 16/150cv , and its base engine is the EV (idem DX).
Which are the difference vs the 2000 E/ 16?
The 2L is a long stroker (94.5 mm) and the engine block was rebored up to 81.5 mm with new pistons, in the 1800 they just changed the 81 mm pistons, in adaptation to the new head! Its shorter stroke (86.4 mm) allows higher rev's.

Hello from Switzerland
Verry good collection.
Congratulation
I have never seen an Oettinger Mark2 in my country.
Is it a kit or a complete Oettinger ?

Built in december 1988, I wonder Oettinger still fitted their heads as the KR was in production!

Here's a copy of registration paper of my Oettinger.
Not much informations are given, but I can read following things from this paper.
The name of the car is written as Volkswagen Oettinger.
It means that this car was already fitted oettinger motor when it was imported into Japan, and this indication on a paper can be made by an official oettinger dealer in Japan only.
From this fact, this car should be imported as a complete 1800E/16 from Oettinger
.
In the case if the motor had changed after it came to Japan, the engine code EV has disappeared and nothing shown in this area.

EV is the name of the engine block, the 1800 8V with Kjetronic, the Oettinger tuning "just" consisting in changing the cylinder head and pistons and injection pipe on the original EV block.
In 1988, it had to be a PB engine, thus this must be a complete std exchange engine with all ancillaries, done by Oettinger before export!
Do you know if the gearbox was also modified (which code?).

Hello,
Transmission was 2Y
I feel that the combination of EV with 2Y tranny sounds strange a little, but is this normal in France?
