1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
That gearbox was buit on nov 6th 1990 and comes from a 16V KR/PL engine, it is a little bit stronger than all the 8V versions: the clutch shaft is 2mm bigger (thus the clutch plate is different!).

Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
Hello,
Tried fixing pealed headlining

Clean up by using cleaner and wet towel.
Decomposed spongy substance is covering the surface of padding and inside of fabric.
I couldn't stick or glue anything on padding and fabric without removing this
.

Cleaning padding gently, it turns into whitish and Polystyrene foam is exposed.
Then I used doubles side tapes and started to glue the lining fabric onto the base form

Reinforced the cracked place a little.

Not so bad as I expected !

Quite favorable !

The last part.

Then FINISHED!

I'm really satisfied as a DIY revel quality

I thought that this would be a hardest part of the restoration, but it went pretty smoothly

Very interesting. !
But I hope that the glue of the double face will hold with the warmth.

It was not easier to deposit it to make this operation ?

It's not certain but I chose the one which can be used in outdoors and durable under high temperature.Andy a écrit :Very interesting. !![]()

Anyway, let's see what will happen

Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
The key is how to remove the spongy things thoroughlySebLM a écrit :Great!

The fabric can be spread well in the warm weather and fit easily.
Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
The main thing being that all the old glue was removed to assure a good behavior of the fabric in time.

The 84 2000e/16v is inbelievable!

Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
C'est clair ! magnifique. A mon gout il lui manque les bandes latérales
Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
Would be perfect with side stickers !
Re: 1988 Oettinger mk2 from JAPAN
